Rich joins Palladium to lead a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of value creation projects for our clients in private equity and their portfolio companies.
Rich has over 15 year’s experience delivering digital products and services for global blue chips, award-winning advertising agencies and fast-growth startups and scaleups.
Tell us about yourself
Husband to Sally, father to Jack and Isabelle, and guardian to a fleet of bicycles. If I was 10 years younger and 10 kilograms lighter I fancy I might be a talented racer!
My passion, aside from bikes, is making things that have an impact. I could never draw or sculpt or dance or write so my artistic outlet from a young age was code. I’m an engineer at heart, which I have married with product and leadership to arrive here today at Palladium.
What attracted you to Palladium?
The people! And purpose: to be small but mighty and leave a lasting positive impact on our clients and community. The founders, Jimmi and Mark, really foster an entrepreneurial attitude in the team and encourage everyone at all levels to invent a new future for Palladium.
What will your new role be at Palladium?
Director of Product and Technology: leading a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of value creation projects for our clients in private equity and their portfolio companies.
What do you hope to achieve at Palladium?
I’m a product guy. I want to help scale the company by introducing a SaaS platform for the private equity community that helps them better find, validate, manage, and exit companies. Complementing our strong services business with a product platform will be a game-changer for us and our clients.
Tell us a bit about what you were doing before starting at Palladium?
Before joining Palladium, I worked in elite sport, leading the design and development of the worlds #1 platform for human performance optimization and analysis. We were the secret edge used by GSK, European Space Agency, Arsenal FC, New York Knicks, and 100s of other famous name teams.
What is your biggest achievement in your career to date?
A life and career are full of many ‘sliding door’ moments. Reflecting, I owe a lot to winning a place on the Intel graduate programme, cutting my teeth with great engineers, and learning many of the skills and mental models that still serve my work today.
What do you like doing when you’re not in the office?
Riding bicycles up mountains and dreaming of my son or daughter becoming a future Tour de France champion.
If you could pick one superpower, what would it be?
A fast metabolism!
