Paul Budd appointed Head of Brand and Customer Experience

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Budd as Head of Brand and Customer Experience.

Paul has over 13 years working across the brand, e-commerce, marketing, sponsoring, and business transformation disciplines. He has held senior roles in both Domestic and Global Marketing functions and leads our latest capability area of Brand and Customer Experience strategy. From helping our clients understand the role and value of brand in driving business and customer successes, to developing compelling future propositions to drive brand equity and commercial outcomes - the customer is always the ‘centre of gravity’ for what we deliver.

Tell us about yourself

Born and raised in Kingston upon Thames, Brand and Marketing enthusiast, Fulham fan, fanatical about travelling, and most recently father to my real boss - my daughter.

What attracted you to Palladium?

There is something uniquely different about Palladium; its proposition, the people, and the outlook driving the trajectory of the business. After spending over 11 years in a corporate environment, where impact and progress typically came in painstaking increments, the opportunity to build a new proposition in a dynamic environment and market struck a major chord.       

What will your new role be at Palladium?

I’ve joined the business to build a new service proposition that helps our clients identify how and where they can unlock the potential and value of their brands. I’ll be working across Due Diligence and Value Creation to evaluate, design and implement the strategies and operating models that deliver market-defining brand and customer experiences for our clients.   

What do you hope to achieve at Palladium?

Let me frame my goals by saying that I’m a firm believer in finding that sweet spot between one’s own personal goals and those of the business. Whilst I’ve spent 12 years in financial services I'm relatively new to the world of Private Equity, so expanding my knowledge and network in this exciting domain will be part of the personal learning journey.

Ultimately, I’m here to deliver impact and help position Palladium as the partner of choice for business and digital transformation. Delivery of which won’t materialize without mentoring and supporting our colleagues and my team members to achieve their respective aspirations and goals as well.   

Whilst it might sound cliché, we’ve got to enjoy what we’re doing, have confidence in the foundations we're working from and be proud of the deliverables and relationships we foster.

Tell us a bit about what you were doing before starting at Palladium?

I’ve had one foot in the Palladium door since last February, working as an associate on various projects. Prior to starting what turned out to be a relatively short Brand and Marketing freelancer career step, I spent 11 years working at the Allianz group in various senior brand and marketing leadership roles across eCommerce, Business Transformation and Global Sponsoring. My career took me all over the world, guiding/ launching new ventures and building the profile of the Allianz brand in markets such as South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Brazil, France, and the US to name a few.  

What is your biggest achievement in your career to date?

Being invited to join the Board of Management in Central and Eastern Europe aged 31 to run Marketing and Direct, was something of a milestone. That role taught me more about myself, how to navigate conflict and content-wise, represented the steepest of learning curves in business and digital transformation.  

What do you like doing when you’re not in the office?

Well, prior to having a daughter - my wife and I would travel extensively, cook, regularly eat out, and I would play golf and read a book a week.  Since then, life’s great equilibrium is being recalibrated, but I try and do as much of those things as possible!
